Tips To Ponder Before Santa Claus Comes To Town:
- Please communicate (252-678-5612 or 252-532-7504) your plans/ideas/wants before the visit. Communication is key to any great Santa visit! We strive to tailor each event to your needs but would recommend you do your due diligence in the planning of the visitation. For example, Having Santa read your child’s favorite Christmas book. It would be ideal if you let us know this beforehand so we can better prepare and plan accordingly.
- Please give Santa a Parking Spot. As Santa gets older, walking farther distances is tough. A reserved spot near entry would be ideal. Another nice touch would be to place a “Reserved for Santa” sign or post.
- Santa may need a helper. Santa will have his toy bag (for gifts if you want Santa to give out gifts) and a separate bag with his story props. A helper will be asked to bring in the story prop bag. If at all possible please designate a helper to assist Santa with introducing the children by name, especially with large groups. Please let Santa know who this helper is before the event for better coordination.
- Please have all cameras ready! Make sure all batteries are fully charged the night before your event. If you hire a photographer, please try to have them arrive on time to avoid delays.
- Santa has to bring gifts, right? Please have any gifts ready and clearly Labeled. Large printed names are ideal to make it easy for Santa to read each gift. It will be best to write the names on the actual gift (tags could fall off) As Santa is older, we would prefer no gifts that are too large or heavy. It would be ideal to provide gifts that can fit inside Santa’s bag! Also, we don’t want any children being left out of the fun, so please make sure there is a gift for every child in attendance.
- Santa needs a good, solid chair. Folding chairs, Rockers, and Low chairs are not good. A good Straight- Dining Room chair, armless, works well. Please provide a sturdy chair for Santa to sit on so he can better accommodate the children for those special personal moments, conversations, and photo opportunities.
- What about music? Create a magical ambiance with Christmas music. We encourage you to create a playlist with your favorite Christmas tunes and play it in the background during Santa’s visit. Timeless Christmas classics are always great (Not too loud, of course). Santa’s Story Time could involve some music that Santa will provide.
- Upon Santa’s arrival, it is recommended that the TV be turned off. This way the focus can stay on Santa in the short time you have with him.
- Location is Key! Use your surroundings to improve the experience. Your Christmas tree or festive decorations can make the perfect background for your photos. Use this area to seat Santa, providing a perfect photo spot. (In front of a burning fireplace is not a good location, since Santa’s suit tends to be hot and a fire could make Santa a bit toasty.)
- If Milk & Cookies!* are part of the festivities, it is recommended that the children wait till the end of Santa’s visit to have refreshments. Sticky hands on Santa’s suit could cause a mess.*
- It will be best if pets are not in the visiting area. Pets can react differently to strangers and ones in strange suits. It will also protect Santa’s suit from damage or soiling.
- Gratuity is always welcome and appreciated. Please note that it’s not appropriate to hand money to Santa where others (especially children) might see it. Place it in a Christmas card.
- Santa Andy would appreciate it if you post photos on social media, and tag him in your post.
